The park is located within short 10 minute walk to the centre of the rural city of Ararat. It is an ideal base to explore the wide variety of regional attractions and is the gateway to the Grampians National Park.

Ararat is more than just a stopover - it’s a destination in its own right, with plenty to see and do while you’re here. Explore local history at Aradale, J Ward, or the Gum San Chinese Heritage Centre, wander through the beautiful Alexandra Gardens, or head up to One Tree Hill for one of the best sunset views in the region. There’s also plenty of great cafes, pubs, and restaurants to enjoy around town. Plus, with the Grampians, Halls Gap, and local wineries all nearby, it’s an easy base for exploring even more of the region.

Come & visit the lovely town of Ararat this weekend with plenty of nice restaurants & nice places to stay, then experience the Awesomeness & the history of the J-ward Gaol or the Aradale Asylum by day, or come & do both !

Some guests roll in for one night and end up staying three. It happens more than you’d think once people settle in and realise how easy it is here — clean accommodation, friendly hospitality, close to town, and a great base for exploring Ararat and the Grampians region. Sometimes it’s just nice to stay somewhere that makes you want to slow down a bit!
