New W**e Wednesday at The Rising Sun, where we open something special under Coravin and pour it by the glass.

Tonight, we’re pouring the 2019 Tenuta di Ghizzano Il Ghizzano Bianco IGT from Tuscany, Italy.

An organic and biodynamic blend of Vermentino, Trebbiano and Malvasia Bianca. Fresh and crisp, with green apple, peach and citrus, finishing dry and balanced.

Friday Happy Hour and meat tray raffle at The Rising Sun.

Every Friday, a local community group comes in during Happy Hour to run the raffle, with the meat tray prepared by Clare Valley Meats and all raffle proceeds going back to local causes.

We are currently welcoming Mintaro Bowling Club to our front bar, so join us from 4pm to 6pm for Happy Hour, grab your meat tray tickets, and stick around for the draw at 6pm to support them.

Live at The Rising Sun this Sunday from 3–6pm, join us for Sunday Roots and Blues featuring MJ Turner. With 25 years behind the guitar, you can expect a mix of blues, roots, classic rock and originals, built with guitar and loops for a full front bar sound.

Our Sunday Roast this week features roast chicken maryland, lemon and thyme, served with all the trimmings, available from 12pm until sold out.

New W**e Wednesday at The Rising Sun, where we open something special under Coravin and pour it by the glass.

Tonight, we’re pouring the 2024 Els Vinyerons Saltamartí Tempranillo/Garnacha from Penedès, Spain.

A blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Garnacha, made with minimal intervention and no added sulphur. Fresh and fruit-forward, with raspberry, cherry and plum alongside a little savoury spice.

October Long Weekend at The Rising Sun

We’re open every day from 12pm this long weekend for lunch, dinner and drinks at the bar.

On Sunday, our Sunday Roast is wagyu bolar blade with all the trimmings, available from 12pm until sold out.

With daylight saving kicking in, our Sunday live music moves to 3 pm – 6 pm, with Lachlan and Amin Duo joining us for an afternoon of free live roots and blues.

New W**e Wednesday at The Rising Sun, where we open something special under Coravin and pour it by the glass.

Tonight, we’re pouring the 2021 Millton Libiamo Chardonnay from Gisborne, New Zealand.

Made with extended skin contact and bottled unfined and unfiltered, this is Chardonnay with plenty of texture and complexity. Expect floral notes, spice and dried stone fruit, with a distinctive savoury edge from its time on skins.

A big night for The Rising Sun, and for Clare Valley w**e. 🍷

We’re incredibly proud to have won *Australia’s Best Listing of a Single Region’s W**es* at the 2026 Australia’s W**e List of the Year Awards.

Our w**e list was also awarded *Three Glasses*, the highest possible rating.

Judge Peter Bourne described The Rising Sun as having “an energetic list that celebrates the w**es of the Clare Valley”, highlighting the breadth of w**es from across the region and our special focus on Wendouree.

That means a lot, because Clare comes first on our list. We’ve set out to represent almost every w**ery across the region, with plenty of depth for those who want to keep turning the pages.

But first and foremost, it’s still a pub w**e list. Everything on it can be enjoyed at the bar.

A huge congratulations to KT, Priscila, Guy and the entire Rising Sun team, and thank you to the growers and w**emakers across the Clare Valley whose w**es make the list what it is.

We couldn’t be prouder to see our little pub in Auburn, and the Clare Valley, recognised on a national stage.

Friday Happy Hour and meat tray raffle at The Rising Sun.

Every Friday, a local community group comes in during Happy Hour to run the raffle, with the meat tray prepared by Clare Valley Meats and all raffle proceeds going back to local causes.

We are currently welcoming families of the Auburn Primary School, with their Kids Council leading the fundraising efforts. They have decided to use the funds raised to add to the natural resources in their jungle play space, what a great initiative.

Join us from 4pm to 6pm for Happy Hour, grab your meat tray tickets, and stick around for the draw at 6pm.

Once a month for New W**e Wednesday, we’re handing over a corner of the Front Bar to a guest w**emaker.

Next, we're welcoming Iain Riggs of Riggs and Wiggs and Brokenwood on Wednesday, 28 October.

He'll be joining us to pour a selection of his w**es and have a chat from 5pm to 6pm in the front bar. The tasting is open to everyone, so there’s no need to book. Just come along and grab a glass.

Afterwards, Iain will join us for a two-course dinner with matched Riggs and Wiggs w**es. Over dinner, he'll share more about the w**es and his approach to w**emaking, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and talk w**e around the table.

Joe Amputch is a Fiji-born roots and blues artist based in Adelaide, South Australia.
