‘We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Lillypilly's Cottages & Day Spa after our car breaking down only 15 Klms from Maleny and waiting 90 minutes for RACQ to attend and tow our vehicle away. We were so stressed out when we arrived at Lillypillys but that did not last long. Adele the owner was so wonderful making us tea and scones while our bags were taken to the cottage for us.

With no transport Adele took us into Montville the following morning so we could spend time looking around the shops then the day we left drove us to the train station. This was so thoughtful and helped us so much.

We would highly recommend you go and stay at this beautiful place. We will certainly be going back: great spa, views and food 'Ten out of Ten'.

While you might not make friends with salad, everyone makes friends with gelato, right? So lick your way to heaven at Maleny Food Co in the centre of town, where you’ll be tasting one award-winning gelato after the other.

Cup or cone, some of our favourites include blueberry and lavender, espresso, and lychee choc ginger. Drool. This joint doubles as a fromagerie and café, so if you need supplies for your afternoon picnic, you’ve come to the right place.

‘This place is like no other...

Never have we been made to feel so special. Alan and Aryna are the perfect hosts: warm, welcoming, witty, charming, and hospitable to name but a few of there wonderful traits. Nothing is too much for them.

This property is a hidden treasure up in the hinterland and the perfect getaway for some serious downtime. The cottages are just beautiful with wonderful little touches like the fresh roses, chocolates, wonderful breakfast hamper loaded with smoked bacon, local yoghurt, sourdough bread, fresh orange juice, fruit and hand delivered croissants in the morning.

Alan also took us into Montville so we could eat out for dinner. Nothing was a problem. They treat you like royalty and go above and beyond to ensure you are comfortable and have everything you need.

Have to also mention that the port was well received after returning from dinner. My husband and I could in no way fault this property. They deserve all the accolades in previous reviews. Congratulations Alan and Aryna for an outstanding property and outstanding service. We will be back’

Booloumba Falls can be found in the Conondale National Park where you will find lush rainforests, tall eucalypt forest, waterfalls, boulder-strewn creeks and spectacular scenery.

The Booloumba Falls walk is 3km return and will take about two hours, plus any additional time for a picnic lunch. You’ll love exploring the rock pools and dipping your toes among tadpoles and little fish. As you follow the path you’ll come to the Booloumba Gorge which presents an impressive outlook over The Breadknife rock formation, cascading waters of the creek and the waterfalls at Peters and Booloumba creeks’ junction.

In the warmer months, the main pool at the top of the falls is pretty deep and around 15m wide allowing you plenty of space to cool off with a swim.

Getting to the start of this hike is a little harder. The road in is unpaved but gravel-covered and there are three river crossings. A high-clearance 4WD vehicle is recommended to access this spot – especially after any heavy rainfall.
