Near Albury-Wodonga, Yakandandah and Beechworth, this self-contained cottage offers ideal location to relax, walk, run, cycle, paddle and explore. A neuk (pronouned nook) is the Scottish word for a secluded, secure corner and we think we live in a wee corner of heaven surrounded by native Australian bush - home to iconic Aussie wildlife like kangaroos, wombats and echidnas as well as birds includ
ing king parrots, blue wrens, rosellas, finches, bower birds and kookaburras. We offer a yummy continental breakfast comprising locally sourced produce where possible. Our own freshly-laid eggs, Aussie bacon, cereals, muesli, homemade bread, jams and preserves, local honey and freshly squeezed orange juice. You can also look forward to enjoying freshly roasted coffee, frothy milk or a pot of your favourite tea. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.
**Kids under 12 are free! **
Like many other BnBs, we do have an additional charge per person after the first two guests, to cover our costs. But we also understand that raising a family can be expensive business and want to keep it affordable. So, if you are bringing your little ones that are under 12, just put two guests in the booking and let me know in a message your exact numbers and their ages. The Wee Bothy was originally a gallery and studio for local Baranduda artist, Betty Scott. Modernised for your comfort, yet respectfully retaining its original Aussie character and quirkiness, you may also spot some wee Scottish touches that adds our own twist to its natural charm. A fully functional kitchen equipped with cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. A washing machine is also available. Have we mentioned the views? They are spectacular - and dont just take our word for it. And what better way to marvel the vistas and soak in the tranquility and beauty of the area, than to enjoy a drink or meal on your own outdoor table setting. And then there are the trails - right at your back door. Baranduda Regional Park boosts walking and mountain bike tracks. As runners, mountain bikers and walkers ourselves (its one of the reasons we bought the place) we love that we have such freedom to indulge in our passion from our back paddock. But as you will read - there are many more trails to enjoy suitable for all levels, including children, in the Albury/Wodonga and Yackandandah area. You will certainly find there is so much to do and explore that a week or two wont seem long enough! ABOUT THE AREA
Baranduda is the place to be if you want to be in the Bush, yet still be close to amenities and attractions. We think its the perfect holiday destination if you enjoy the outdoors, love the Australian bush with its wildlife and birds, or just like to explore! We are very close to the historical townships of Yackandandah and Beechworth (without the prices!) And a visit to the nearby beautiful Mount Beauty, Myrtleford and/or Bright with all their attractions seldom disappoints. There's a plethora of walking/running/mountain bike trails nearby. Some are as close as our back paddock, others are only 15 mins drive in the surrounding Wodonga hills or Nail Can Hill Reserve in Albury. Close to Lake Hume where you can fish, paddleboard and water ski. Cycle/walk/run on the High Country Rail Trail; currently running 80kms from Shelley just outside Corryong, weaving its way through Tallangatta (the town that moved in the 1950s) and along Lake Hume shore before finishing in Wodonga. Enjoy tasting award-winning wines from the Rutherglen winery region or sample locally made gin and whisky in Yackandandah. Mount Hotham and Falls Creek ski fields are just over 100kms away.
