With the school holidays underway, there are a few things happening around the region that caught our eye:

Wednesday 30 September - Treasure Boxes at Barooga Library. A handy one for the kids while you're in town.

🌿 Explore the Murray
If organised activities aren't your thing, there's always the Murray River, walking and cycling tracks, river beaches, the Botanical Gardens and plenty of places to explore around Barooga and Cobram.

⛳ And don't forget the golf clubs!
With some fantastic courses around the region, October is a great time to get out for a round.

ONE YEAR IN BAROOGA! 🥳🌅 Well, what can we say… that went quickly....
One year, plenty of guests, countless coffees, a few new grey hairs - and one massive thank you to everyone who has stayed with us, left a review, recommended us to friends, stopped for a chat or simply wished us well. ❤️

When we arrived, we knew we were moving to Barooga to run a motel.
What we didn't quite expect was how much we'd come to love the place.

Over the past year we've discovered some pretty special spots, met some wonderful people and learnt a lot about what makes Barooga and the wider Murray region tick.

Golf. The Murray. Walking and cycling. Fishing. Events. Markets. Family adventures. And plenty of reasons to stay another night.

And we're still discovering more.

To mark our first year, we've put together the first edition of the Sunrise Journal — a little story about our move to Barooga, what our first year has been like, what our guests have taught us, and why we think Barooga is worth staying a little longer for.

Project: New Wall is officially underway!
Based on today's progress, we've estimated completion somewhere around the year 2111... give or take😅. Once it's ready, it'll become home to a brand-new mural, and we'd love to hear from artists who'd like to be part of the project.

We'd love to chat while we're patiently waiting for the wall to finish.

✨ Exciting news for Sunrise Motel! ✨

We're incredibly grateful to Berrigan Shire Council for awarding us a Small Business Grant to help transform one of our very sad, very old, roadside walls into a mural celebrating local artists and our amazing community. The project was announced as part of Council's latest Small Business Grants program.

While we wait for Steve to find the secateurs we need help to brainstorm.
