“The federal government is spruiking a new scheme which will give millions of Australians a chance to get up to three hours of free electricity each day.

Right now, huge amounts of solar power generated in the middle of the day go to waste, as most people aren't home to use it and there aren't enough batteries to store it.

But not everyone will be able to access the scheme, and there are also concerns it could push up prices at other times of the day.

Another catch is that only households with a smart meter can sign up, and to get savings on their electricity bill they will need to have the ability to shift their electricity use into the free-power period.

The government has not confirmed exactly when the daily free period will be, but it's likely to be between 11am and 2pm, when solar generation is at its peak.”

I’m speechless.

Just when you think Chris Bowen couldn’t destroy the energy grid any further, he comes up with another crazy idea.

The fact we have an energy grid that over produces power when people don’t need it is testament to the stupidity of the religion called renewables.

Of course the catch in all of this is that you need to have a smart meter so the government can control your power usage. Having the government turn off your power will become more and more common as we start to have rolling blackouts caused by the unreliability of renewables.

When this nightmare ends is anyone’s guess. Unfortunately it will probably be too late to stop our economy and energy grid from being destroyed.

Pleased to have arrived in Cairns for my final meet and greet tonight at Cairns and District Junior Eisteddfod Hall, 67-71 Greenslopes Street, Edge Hill starting 6:30.

Thanks to everyone who has turned out to see me this week. I really appreciate your support.

The feedback has been unanimous. People want to see genuine change. They want politicians who offer solutions not stunts.

It’s time to put the People First and the majors last.

It’s no secret that the government response to “Covid” exposed major issues with our health system.

People First will lobby for a number of reforms so that people can have a greater say in how they manage their health and to ensure the government and pharmaceutical companies are held to account for their decisions.

To much power is being placed in the hands of health bureaucrats who have no front line experience but significant conflicts on interest.

These reforms are:

1) The TGA to be split into two departments – 1) Testing medical products and drugs and 2) Reviewing the safety of medical products and drugs. Funding for these departments will come from Treasury, not from the Pharmaceutical companies who are being regulated. They will pay regulation fees to Treasury.

2) The introduction of a No fault Injury Claim scheme.

3) Liability for the safety of all medical products and drugs will lie with the companies that make them. i.e. drug companies will be liable for negligent and misleading behaviour.

4) The Immunisation handbook principle that no one can be coerced into taking a vaccine will be enforced. This will mean that ‘No jab, No Play’ and ‘No jab, No Pay’ conditions are abolished. People First still encourage childhood immunisations where the vaccines are PROVEN to be safe and effective. People First does not support the rollout of new medical procedures and drugs that are not adequately tested for safety and effectiveness.

6) Abolish AHPRA and devolve responsibility for medical oversight back to State Medical Boards, whilst encouraging State Governments to strengthen oversight powers of the Medical Board. This includes the Medical Board being elected not selected.

7) Review the PBS scheme for drugs that are not significantly different to off label drugs in terms of effectiveness in order to save costs that can be redirected to front line services.

8 ) Negotiate with State Governments the roles and responsibilities between Federal and State Health Departments with a view to eliminating bureaucratic waste and improving front line services.

9) Review the management of the Covid “pandemic” with a view to holding Health authorities who failed to uphold their ethical responsibilities to account.

10) The withdrawal of Australia from the World Health Organisation.

Gotta hand it to the Labor party.

They really know how to milk the system to their own advantage.

Too bad about the hard working Australians who have to pay the price for this rort.

“Outgoing ABC managing director David Anderson will remain one of the country's highest earners for the rest of his life despite quitting his $1.15million job – all thanks to you.

Under the Commonwealth Superannuation Scheme, Mr Anderson, who first joined the public broadcaster as a bike courier in Adelaide in 1989 and enjoyed a 35-year career at the ABC, is entitled to an annual CPI-indexed pension of at least 37 per cent of his final salary.

That would put the outgoing ABC boss's total taxpayer-funded annual pension at almost $430,000 – more than four-and-a-half times the nation's average income.

However, sources within the ABC have hinted Mr Anderson may have negotiated an even higher pension package.”

There is some confusion about a post I made the other day regarding means testing superannuation.

Just to clarify I am referring to defined benefit schemes such as the one above for bureaucrats excluding the military. Furthermore I am not referring to State schemes for teachers and nurses etc.

Defined benefits schemes are different to contribution schemes where the employer/employee pays circa 12% of their own wage into super.

Defined benefits are based on a percentage of a bureaucrats final salary and excludes what they themselves contributed. As you can see they are very generous. Paying out $400,000 a year for the next 30 years to a bureaucrat who was earning over a million a year just doesn’t pass the pub test.

Contribution schemes are different to defined benefits because the contributions are vested, unlike defined benefits which cost the taxpayer around $10 billion a year. (See below)

These gold plated defined benefit pensions is what needs to be means tested just like everyone else is means tested if they are to receive the age pension.
