We love Yackandandah and some of my best high school girlfriends lived there so I spent many happy sleep overs there! Like this post from Backwood’s, we did a “tree change” to this beautiful part of the world and got off the treadmill of city life (although city life has advantages too) When you visit us, do yourself a favour and visit picturesque Yack!

To our wonderful customers and community,

Many of you will have seen the ‘For Sale’ sign we had up in the windows earlier this year, and the sign’s disappearance a little while ago. Unfortunately, we have had no real interest from anyone in buying the business as a going concern and we’ve now reached the point where we are going to wind up Beechworth Books.

We are terribly sad to have reached this point and we remain very open to any genuine offers to take on the business as a going concern.

If you have been interested in taking on the bookshop but thought you wouldn’t be able to afford it, please get in touch. We’re much more interested in helping the bookshop stay open than the sale price.

We had the privilege to host
Deborah Cheetham Fraillon AO at the weekend; composer, soprano and arts leader…. As a soprano, Deborah has sung internationally as well at the opening ceremonies of the Sydney Olympics and the 2003 World Cup. Here I am absolutely in awe of her performance, emotionally charged story and hope for better reconciliation.
