WE WON!

We’re incredibly proud to share that Farrago Interiors has taken home the 2026 Master Builders Award for Commercial Fitout up to $5 Million for

This project was a big one for us with Farrago delivering the entire construction and fitout from start to finish.

From the early stages through to the final details, our team brought the whole space together and turned the vision for Playa into what it is today.

To have the finished project recognised by Master Builders Queensland is something we’re seriously proud of.

A massive thank you to our crew, subcontractors, suppliers and everyone who had a hand in getting this one across the line.

And of course, a huge thank you to the team at Playa Mexican for trusting Farrago to bring it all to life.

As part of our work at the iconic Big Pineapple, we’ve had the opportunity to bring a pretty special piece of its history back to life, the original-style punkah fan system.

The punkahs were introduced during a major refurbishment of the Big Pineapple in 1993, when the upstairs retail area was upgraded with evaporative cooling, new lighting, decorative façades and the suspended mechanical fan system.

Unlike a traditional ceiling fan, a punkah uses large suspended paddles that move slowly back and forth, creating a gentle movement of air through the space, a design with a history stretching back centuries.

The system became such a distinctive part of the Big Pineapple interior that it is specifically documented in the heritage description of the building as a “suspended motorised fan system (a punkah)” running along the ceiling.

The Big Pineapple, formerly Sunshine Plantation, has been State Heritage-listed since 2009 and is recognised as an important part of Queensland's tourism history and one of the state's earliest and best-known examples of agri-tourism.

More than 30 years after the punkahs were first installed, we're helping give this little piece of Big Pineapple history another chapter.

Keeping the old character, bringing it back to life and making sure some of the details people remember are still there for the next generation. 🍍

We love a good comeback story

The Melbourne Hotel in Bundaberg has certainly seen its fair share over the years, weathering major floods in 1890's, 1942, 1970's, and more recently in 2010, 2013 and again in 2026.

But you can’t keep a good pub down 🍻

After the latest flood damage, we’re pretty excited to be playing a part in its next chapter with Farrago delivering the joinery fitout as the Melbourne Hotel gets ready to come back bigger and better than ever.

A closer look at the finished joinery at The Lakes College’s new Performing Arts Precinct and Strength & Conditioning Gym 👏

Farrago was proud to work alongside Evans Built and McLellan & Bush Architects, supplying and installing the custom joinery throughout these impressive new spaces.

From the Performing Arts areas through to the Strength & Conditioning facilities, it’s great to see the finished project come together and ready for students to enjoy.

New Project | Unity College Hospitality Precinct

We’re excited to be working with Gibson Architects and Rohrig Constructions on the new Hospitality Precinct at Unity College, Caloundra.

With construction officially underway, Farrago will be delivering the joinery package for this exciting new facility.

We’re looking forward to working alongside a great project team and seeing the vision come together over the coming months.

🍩 Happy Dough Kawana is officially open!

We loved working with the Happy Dough team to design and deliver the full fitout for their new Kawana location.

From the bold colours and playful finishes through to the custom joinery and overall layout, this was such a fun space to design and bring to life.

The doors are now open, so if you’re around Kawana, go check out the finished space and grab yourself a doughnut while you’re there 🍩

There's something pretty special about coming back to a project you've already helped bring to life.

After restoring the iconic Big Pineapple itself, we're excited to be back on site to deliver the refurbishment of the new café area and microbrewery 🍍🍻

Parfaits are back, and while everyone enjoys a taste of nostalgia, our team is busy behind the scenes getting started on the next stage of this iconic destination.
