Every year, dozens - no hundreds - of Silvereyes pass through on their annual migration and it has already started for this year.

The currawongs were in full chorus this morning despite (or maybe because of) the misty weather. This group were mostly in the old Red Cedar next to the Cottage where there stayed for several hours, chorusing away.
(look out if you are a little bird!)

Most of us know the call of the Whipbird - sounds a bit like a whip being cracked. But they also chatter, quite a bit.
Here's one at the birdbath at the cabin having a drink, splash and a bit of a chatter.

A Fun Fungi Foray was held at Bellthorpe Stays yesterday by the Queensland Mycological Society. Plenty of beaut fungi were found in the rainforest and other places. Experts and beginners all had a good time getting nature connected.

Noisy Pitta at Bellthorpe Stays

Chris and Lee stayed at Bellthorpe Retreat a couple of weeks ago and snapped this beautiful photo of the Noisy Pitta, a few metres away from the front door.
This follows the earlier photo they snapped of a juvenile - so this pic could be one of the parents.
Noisy Pittas are a regular at the Retreat. They can be regularly heard at night as they forage for snails and other snacks.
