Look what rolled into town yesterday a reenactment of 1926 Bagot’s Northern Territory Motor Tours set epic journey from Adelaide to Darwin & back.
100 years later the trip, also in 2 100 year old Studebakers, and following the original route is being reenacted.

We had an excellent celebration and raised funds for RFDS.
The cars will be in Beltana for most of today if you happen to be around

In May 1926 Bagot’s Northern Territory Motor Tours set off on an epic journey from Adelaide to Darwin & back. At the time this was the world’s longest commercial motor tour. It was undertaken in 2 Studebaker 7 seater passenger cars and 2 supply trucks, catering for 12 paying passengers and a crew of 6, over 5 weeks.

100 years later a re-creation of the trip, also in 2 100 year old Studebakers, is following the original route.

The cars will roll into Beltana all being well and be here Wednesday afternoon and Thursday.

The restoration on our historic hotel continues. Last week we had three stonemasons on the job repointing around the hotel. We are almost finished completely around the hotel at ground level which is exciting.. as then we can continue on the inside!
