Hilltops Council is holding a workshop on Friday 17th June 2022 at Bendick Murrell Hall between 2.oopm and 4.00 to discuss our local tip and other issues. It would be great if as many of you can attend to voice your opinions and suggestions that you consider important to our 2803 community. If you are unable to attend please send a message to the Hilltops Council page so that your submission can be discussed.

A shout out to our very own Tai Chi Class leader, Val Weir, who will be on Sunrise Friday Morning demonstrating her Zen skills for the Big Bike Ride Fund Raiser!

Tune in tomorrow morning to Sunrise to see all her bendy moves!🤸

We are so lucky to have Val leading our Tai Chi Classes in Young, and invite Young residents who would like to be more active to attend the Tai Chi class on Thursdays at 9.00am.

“Tai Chi is a great way to improve your balance and flexibility in a friendly, social setting and no experience is necessary,” says Val. “Everyone is welcome to join in.”

Sessions run weekly on Thursday at 9.00am - 10.00am at the dance studios at the rear of the Southern Cross Cinema (Services Club Carpark).

Participants are asked to contribute a gold coin per session to assist with program running costs.

We know how important regular physical activity is, especially for older Australians, so we are fortunate to be able to support volunteers across a number of communities to provide low cost group exercise opportunities. 👍

Hello everyone. Would I be allowed to message the people of Bendick Murrell, Wirrimah and Crowther in relation to our local tip at Bendick Murrell please? Once again the tip changes has raised it head and we have no way of notifying all the residents so I am hoping this message may reach some who will tell their neighbours.
We do not know where Hilltops Council has advertised the add for us about lodging submissions into why the tip should NOT be skip bins etc but after contact was made with Council Office at Young it is confirmed we must lodge submissions by the 2nd March, 2022. If you are able to use a computer please go into www.hilltops.nsw.gov.au/waste services and recycling and lodge your submissions. If not could you please prepare a letter and hand it into the office of the Hilltops Council in Young. This is very important to the people of this area. As ratepayers we believe we are entitled to ask Council for a public meeting to be held at Bendick Murrell Hall on a date to be decided, so that we may voice our opinions and also be informed of any changes whatsoever to our tip. Thank you.

Hilltops Council in consultation with the community developed a Waste Management and Resource Recovery Strategy which outlines a clear direction for the minimisation, management and education around waste and recycling for the Hilltops Local Government Area.

Update on Sale proposal.

It has been confirmed today the prospective buyer of the Tavern has decided not to go ahead with the purchase at this stage due to complications arising around the sale of the Tavern and its equipment License etc and also personal business complications of the proposed buyer.

It is believed the owner wishes to sell only as residential but this has not been confirmed.

It is official
It is time for us to move on and go back to our life at Greenethorpe.
Sunday 26th June at 10pm the Tavern doors will close and not reopen on Monday.
As there has been no buyers come forward the owners have decided to get the site rezoned as residential and sell as a house.If you know anyone looking to buy and ready with cash please let me know asap.

We are hosting a thank you farewell tomorrow night for our suppliers, workers, regular patrons and friday night raffle ticket buyers
THIS IS NOT A FREE FOR ALL if you do not fall into the category of above you are still welcome but must buy your own drinks.
The Kitchen will not be open on Saturday night. Bar snacks served at 4.30 pm and 6.30pm.
