Riverview Cottage is a peaceful base for your Barrington escape, with a spacious deck overlooking the surrounding bushland and Barrington River valley.

Make breakfast, put the kettle on and take your time. There’s nowhere else you need to be.

With the school holidays here, this is a pretty good way to spend the day. 💦🌿

Pack the swimmers, bring the kayaks and enjoy some time on the Barrington River, right on the doorstep of The Steps.

Swim, paddle, explore, then head back to camp and do it all again tomorrow. 🏕️

Having spent many years living in cities ourselves, we know how easy it is to lose touch with nature and its natural rhythms. It’s one of the reasons The Steps means so much to us!

We wanted to create a place where people could step away from the noise for a while and reconnect with the simple things. The sound of the river, birdsong, fresh air, sunshine and rain, waking with the sun and evenings around the campfire.

No WiFi, fewer distractions and more time with family and friends.

We hope a stay at The Steps gives you the same chance to slow down, reset and reconnect that it gives us. 💚

There’s something about spending a few days at The Steps that helps you slow down.

The sound of the river, birds in the trees, fresh air and time with family and friends. No rushing around, just a chance to switch off and enjoy where you are.
