Manar Park is situated at 2252 Manar Road, Boondooma, on the border of the North Burnett and South Burnett Regions in SE Queensland. It’s a 14,000+ acre working cattle station and has a variety of tracks for all types of drivers from learners through to highly experienced. The property is enriched by natural landmarks including the Boyne River, Wallaby Rock, a series of caves, and a waterfall (perfect for rock crawling and winch challenges), offering a huge variety of driving experiences.
Manar Park is not open to the general public, so we were very fortunate to gain access, thanks to our affiliation with Motorcycling Australia and a couple of key SXS enthusiasts in the area. Thanks guys.
This event is a Camp Away so we will be based at Manar Park in the camp grounds where there are great showers and toilets provided, however there are other upgraded accommodation options on site for those who want them, but these must be pre-arranged between yourselves and Manar Park directly. This can be done via email at [email protected] or by calling them on 0407 697 005. There are also some powered campsites available, but these also require pre-booking and additional charges. If you’re just free camping like us, all accommodation is included in the club event charge.
Being a typical SXS Club camp away, we try to all base ourselves roughly together, so when we go riding everybody knows we are heading out so we can all go in one big group with a nominated lead and sweep. Because of the property setup we can go out in smaller groups if that’s what anybody wants to do, and this usually happens later in the weekend as drivers find others with similar driving styles to themselves, which is absolutely encouraged. Even in this situation though, a lead and sweep needs to be nominated before you head out.
The ride itself will take place on the Saturday and Sunday and is costed accordingly, however if anybody wishes to arrive on the Friday they are more than welcome to do so, however driving of the buggies is not permitted until the event commences on Saturday. Also, there will be an additional charge for the extra night of accommodation ($30), payable on arrival to Manar Park directly.
For those of you who have not been to a SXS Club camp away before, here are a few key things to remember:
2wd tow vehicle access is fine to get you into the camp grounds.
Leave any drinking of alcohol until after your last ride for the day. Our permit requires all participants to have zero alcohol in their system and breath testers will be on site.
Bring a UHF radio if you have one and we will advise the channel we will be on before we ride.
Cost for this event is $220 per driver (one per buggy) and is payable on the website prior to the event. Additional participants aged 16 and older are $50 payable in cash on the day and any attendees under 16 are $20 payable in cash on the day. These costs cover the clubs MA liability insurance, trail access all weekend and Saturday night camping fees, however if you choose to camp on the Friday night, an additional $30 needs to be paid to Manar Park.
All attendees must be signed up club members of SXS Club of Australia Inc. and must sign on with event officials before unloading your buggy.
Helmet, eye protection and closed in shoes must be worn at all times when in a moving buggy.
It’s a fairly remote location with minimal facilities so bring all your food and cooking gear, drinks, water, basic spare parts, tools, and anything you would usually take on a ride or when you go camping.
You shouldn’t need to carry additional fuel in your buggy, but if you are concerned about your fuel usage, feel free to carry some extra fuel in a safe location and in an approved container.
Be considerate to other club members and make sure your fellow riders do the same. If somebody does the wrong thing, it may not be just them that loses their club membership so help keep your Mates honest.
During a ride if you have an issue just pull over and the sweep rider will stop and assist you.
Take plenty of photos and video with your phone and share them on the club Facebook group chat. If you get some good stuff on your action cams, please share it with us and we may include it in the club event video.
Most of all, have fun. This is one of the coolest things you can do in a SXS, so take a moment when you’re out there to stop, breathe, and just appreciate how lucky we are.

What a weekend 🔥

4 days at Manar Park done and dusted… and yeah, it got a little dusty by the end 😅
From Friday morning through to Monday, the place was alive.

Big days on the bike, long laps, plenty of tired bodies and even bigger smiles.
Tracks started mint and just kept getting rougher as the weekend went on — proper test by the end of it 👌

Exactly what we’re chasing.
Camp life was unreal too… fires going, kids running around, everyone kicking back after a solid day’s ride. That’s what these weekends are all about.

Massive thank you to everyone who made the trip out — riders, families, and all the crew behind the scenes. We appreciate it more than you know.

Big shoutout to:
– Walkabout Mobile Mechanical keeping bikes rolling 🔧
– First aid crew holding it down
– Everyone who lent a hand over the 4 days

Plenty of riders stepped well outside their comfort zone and sent it — that’s what we love to see 💪

Already thinking about the next one…
If you missed it — you missed out 👀
