Hakuna Matata Resort is open for individual or couple stays, as well as for group getaways, wedding celebrations, birthday parties, team bonding sessions and personal training bootcamps. Imagine experiencing a gorgeous sunset through the trees, then your blistering fire under a sky full of stars! All with your large group of friends sharing bbq food and your favourite drinks. Simba is perhaps the most picturesque of the camping areas of Hakuna Matata resort and can cater for up to 40 guests. There is plenty of grass to pitch tents and can even cater for campervans. Simba has a picnic table under a covered area, fire pits, a gas bbq under another covered area with a couple of seating options, and a toilet. It’s a really enjoyable place to camp. Bush party time!!! Rafiki is the party place of Hakuna Matata resort. Enough space for 50 guests and a superb stage-like covered deck area with lights, gas bbq, bath tub to put your ice and drinks in, and seating and tables for eating. Timon has 2 ready-made canvas tents on raised platforms with roofs. One tent has 2 single beds and the other tent has a double bed. Sleeping bags and pillows are also provided. There is a firepit and cooking gear for your campfire. There is also a covered seating area with light, a toilet, and water tank with potable water. Timon is down the back track so is very secluded. Kiara is a cosy cabin in the middle of the bush. If you want the true relaxing vibe then this place is for you! Listen to the birds and the wind. It caters for 2 adults, with a queen size bed, kitchenette with gas bbq, woodfired pizza oven, fridge, crockery and cutlery, daybed, toilet and cool outdoor shower, hammock, deck chairs and fire pit. You’ll love the place … but make sure you leave time to explore the rest of the property’s wildlife, starry skies, walking tracks and brilliant sunsets. Kiara is $260 per night. Mufasa (the safari tent) is a fully functional area for you to enjoy your stay and relax the whole time. It is located in the far back corner of the property about 3 kms from the property entrance, up a hill, down a valley, and up another hill, so you are assured of quiet and tranquility for the duration of the stay. It is accessible via a 4wd vehicle only. You can either park your 2wd vehicle about 200 metres away and walk the remainder or we can help you take your gear there in our vehicle.

The safari tent has a king-size bed on a wooden floor with doona and plenty of blankets, solar lighting, cupboard space with extra blankets, and a small gas fridge for your food storage. About 30 metres away is a bush kitchenette with gas BBQ, pizza oven, and firepit, with the toilet and hot shower a further 30 metres away. For fun and games, there is a seated 3-foot chessboard, quoits, other board games, dartboard, and some sporting activities.

Please be aware that you are in the middle of the bush and the area has low lighting for ambience so you may wish to bring a torch or headlamp if you wish to go for walks at night. Also, please bring your own towels. For an extra $30 guests can use the outdoor bath.

The safari tent is located about 50 metres from a grassed area (Nala), which you can also book as part of a larger group.

Our Story

Welcome to Hakuna Matata resort; a facility of Motivating Personal Change! Hakuna Matata means “no worries”, and that is what you will experience and learn.

Veronika and Kieran will ensure that you have the best bush camping experience possible. There are spots available for camping with your own tents, glamping in the safari tent, and a few spots for caravans. Soon there will be a little studio room for hire as well. All have the awesome ambience of the bush with some ‘wow’ factor thrown in. Given that the property is 144 acres, you will be generally secluded from others (unless you want to hang out with them).

So come and enjoy a brilliant fire, a sky full of stars, amazing sunsets, and the sounds and smells of the bush. Get the billy boiling, fire up the 4B with the van, and be prepared to enjoy your time with mates, family or your own self. It means ‘no worries’ and that is what you’ll feel. Hakuna Matata!
