Bushchooks Travellers Village - Bororen

There’s been plenty happening at Bushchooks lately, and it’s been a real family affair!

It has been so great having our son Jayden and his wife Chloe here helping us out. So many jobs have been getting ticked off around the place, with Jayden fixing up the paving, helping create smoother and more seamless check-in processes, and updating our office procedures to keep things running nicely behind the scenes.

Chloe has also been creating a brand-new chalkboard for our guests. Our old whiteboard just wasn’t big enough for all the amazing messages people have been leaving, so we can’t wait to see the chalkboard fill up. We’re looking at you, Jay Kelly, to kick it off!

Grandpa and Jeff have been busy with drainage jobs and, of course, having a little play with Jeff’s bike. Although it’s never a great sign when one of them is scratching his head with the manual while the other is searching Google!

I’ve had a great time renovating the gardens and welcoming guests, while Brian and Ella have been doing what they do best: greeting everyone, making people smile, and chilling out around the place.

Three generations, lots of laughs, plenty of hard work, and a whole lot of love going into Bushchooks.

🐓 Bushchooks Update – Another One Ready to Go! 🛠️✨

We’ve been busy again and are excited to share that Room 30 is now up and running!

When we first arrived, this room was being used for storage (we’re still not quite sure why 🤔), but it’s now been completely brought back to life. With a new A/C, TV, fridge, bed and mattress, it’s fresh, comfortable and ready for guests.

Jeff has also worked his magic on the shower recess, giving it a full coating — and it now looks brand new. Such a great transformation and we’re really proud of how it’s turned out!

A very special thank you to Kate, our amazing cleaner — although calling her just a cleaner doesn’t do her justice. Kate is truly part of the Bushchooks family 💛

Not only does she keep every room spotless for our guests, she goes above and beyond, always finding little ways to make the Bushchooks experience even better, from new ashtrays, to chook tea towels in the camp kitchen, to bringing in plants from home to make the amenities and dining areas feel more homely — it’s those thoughtful touches that make such a difference.

Thank you Kate, we really appreciate you and everything you do 🙏

🐓 Bushchooks Update – Busy, Building & Better Than Ever! 🛠️✨

We’ve been wonderfully busy lately with both old friends returning and lots of new guests discovering Bushchooks now that the village is open, refreshed and truly cared for again. It’s such a great feeling seeing the place full of life ❤️

Behind the scenes, Jeff has been flat out (as always!). He’s replaced the old temporary flashings on the cabins where previous air conditioners had been removed. They weren’t properly protecting from the weather and had caused some water damage over time — but not anymore! Everything is now neat, secure and doing its job properly ✔️

All air conditioners in every room have now been professionally deep cleaned, and we’ll be maintaining the filters regularly until the next scheduled deep clean to ensure all our guests enjoy fresh, clean air during their stay.

Jeff has also started work on Room 30 — which, when we arrived, was being used as storage (we’re not sure why 🤔). The A/C wasn’t working, there were some water leaks, and the shower needed new waterproofing… but nothing Jeff can’t handle! It’s now underway and getting the Bushchooks treatment.

We’ve also upgraded the shower hoses across the rooms — much better and working beautifully.

A big thank you to Blayne, our weekend man, doing a fantastic job helping keep Bushchooks clean and tidy — we appreciate you, Blayne! 👏

And a very special thank you to Kate, who is keeping our rooms spotlessly clean for our guests. She is doing an amazing job, and it truly shows in the comfort and presentation of every cabin. We’re so grateful for her hard work 💛

Thank you as well to Paul, who continues to keep the Camp Kitchen and amenities to such a high standard. It doesn’t go unnoticed.

Of course, Brian and Ella are always on the job too — supervising and making sure all guests are warmly welcomed 🐶💛

All in all, Bushchooks is looking and feeling great. And Cabin 1 — our newest completed cabin — has been solidly booked, which tells us we’re on the right track!

Reading your kind words, stories, and little notes of appreciation truly makes every long day worthwhile. 🐔✨ CABIN 1 IS READY! ✨🐔

Well… it’s finally happened — Cabin 1 is finished and ready to welcome guests at Bushchooks Travellers Village 🌿

After plenty of hard work behind the scenes (and maybe a few cups of coffee along the way ☕😉), we’re so proud to share this lovely refreshed space created especially for travellers looking for a comfortable stopover.

Cabin 1 is a self-contained triple and includes:

🛏️ Double bed + king single bed
🛌 Brand new beds, quilts and quilt covers
🍴 Kitchenette and dining area
❄️ Fridge, microwave and jug
🪑 Table and chairs
🌿 A cosy patio to sit back and unwind

We’ve loved bringing this space back to life and creating a welcoming little home away from home for our guests ❤️

Feeling incredibly grateful ❤️

After a long 7 months of fixing, repairing, replacing and bringing Bushchooks back to life, we were finally able to take a few days off — and a huge thank you goes to our son Jayden and daughter-in-law Chloe for holding down the fort while we were away.

They were absolutely amazing, continuing with the jobs still to be completed, working hard to finish the remaining tasks in Cabin 1, while also keeping up with the everyday essentials — hedging, bookings, welcoming guests and making sure everything ran smoothly.

The feedback from guests was fantastic — everyone loved Jayden and Chloe and appreciated their warm welcome and hard work. We are so proud and very grateful for their support.

Bushchooks really is a team effort ❤️
