Boulia Shire Council has successful completion of the Wills Street Footpath Project, delivered thanks to $104,084 in funding through the Queensland Government’s Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme (TIDS).
The project has delivered a new compliant footpath along both the eastern and western sides of Wills Street between Herbert and Moonah Streets completed on time and within budget.
This important upgrade provides:
✅ A continuous all-weather pathway connecting the main section of Boulia with the Primary Health Care Centre and the school.
✅ Improved accessibility, including a new full-length concrete footpath on the eastern side of Wills Street.
✅ Enhanced pedestrian safety by replacing damaged sections of footpath.
✅ A dedicated pathway designed to be accessible and enjoyable for people of all ages and abilities.
Council would like to extend our thanks to the Queensland Government and the Department of Transport and Main Roads for their support in helping deliver safer, more accessible infrastructure for our community.
