After some of the hardest years of my life, I’m beginning to find beauty, hope and happiness again. Kiama has been a place of respite, a place that has soothed my soul & a place I want to share.

I’m looking forward to creating a wonderful beachside stay, that I’ll share with family, friends. I hope to offer the property as an AirBnB stay during the Summer months.

So much has happened over the last 18mths, I’ve closed a business, sold our family home, taken advice from my accountant, downsized, got a job, cried, renovated, gardened & cried some more. One thing I’ve realised about myself is that I need a creative outlet, that I find beauty in my surrounds and in nature plus I’m addicted to textiles, my search history proves it!

I’d love you to join me as I hunt for treasures to create my idea of a perfect coastal home away from home. The journey isn’t going to quick, it’s a going to be a labour of love on a shoestring budget over the next couple of years.

I won’t be posting frequently but I’ll share my ‘joy’ along the way 😊

Well That’s a Wrap!

AirBnBing the house was horrible!

25% of guests either stole or damaged things. An antique French bedside table was damaged, I’ve had the painter back 3 times to touch up, sheets were literally cut & books were stolen.

I had thought by AirBnBing ‘Winton’ I would be able to make the decision to move back but the opposite occurred. While I’ll no doubt miss this beautiful Old Bowral home, I have no regrets.

I’ve prayed earnestly over all my decisions & God has continually made it very clear which path I should take.

This account will be deleted in the coming weeks, as life takes on new adventures.

Winton House Changing Seasons

As the last leaves of Autumn 🍂 hold on, I realise more than ever it’s the little things that make me happy. The true changing of seasons in the Southern Highlands is one of those things. This Autumn would honestly be one of the best I’ve ever seen, there has been a riot of changing colours for weeks 💛🧡❤️🤎. I’m actually also looking forward to the gardens resting during Winter, something I also hope to do.

Autumn is the perfect time to visit the Southern Highlands & Bowral is looking gorgeous ~ the leaves are turning, there’s bunting & floral arbors appearing, store windows are being beautified and the weather has been magnificent.

“Sarah’s place was absolutely perfect - the house was immaculate, beautifully styled and spacious, the beds were comfortable, the living room was spacious yet cozy and the place had everything we could possibly need.
There were some special touches such as a local bottle of wine, bread, fresh eggs, and some special Easter themed treats.
Sarah’s communication was excellent and she was very accommodating with our requests.
We had the most wonderful stay and particularly enjoyed our afternoons spent in the backyard having some wine with our family.
Thanks for a lovely stay, we hope to visit again soon.“ G

Bridgerton is coming to Bowral!

With a recent cancellation, you too could be part of The Bridgerton Magic in Bowral ~ Winton House is footsteps to town for you to enjoy all the festivities.

Regency romance sweeps through Australia as Netflix set to transform the beautiful country town of Bowral for the arrival of Bridgerton Season 3.

Get ready Australia, the ton is coming down under. Australian fans are cordially invited to carriage to the rolling hills, manicured gardens and picturesque shopfronts of the historical town of Bowral in the Southern Highlands of NSW for a country excursion with a splash of regency magic to celebrate the upcoming season of Shondaland’s hit series Bridgerton.

From Tuesday 16th – Tuesday 23rd April select locations around the charming country town will be gussied up in their Bridgerton best for a glamourous week-long celebration of the coming season of the iconic Netflix series.

Working with local businesses in Bowral to create a fan experience like no other, Netflix will marry one of Australia’s most beautiful small towns with the romance and beauty of the Ton –with further details still to come dear readers.

Local fans will also get the chance to watch the first episode of Bridgerton Season 3 at Bowral’s own Empire Cinemas, weeks before it premieres on Netflix. There will be four free screenings at Empire Cinemas from Monday 22nd – Tuesday 23rd April, with ticketing information soon to be announced.

But what Bridgerton experience could ever be complete without a seductive soiree to close the proceedings? On Tuesday 23rd April, the magnificent grounds of Milton Park will play host to a regency themed Garden Party, opening their gates to fans and locals for a spectacular afternoon celebration that’s set to be the envy of every debutant and gentleman in high society.

And… who knows? At a garden party, you could bump into

We received the original deeds for Winton dated 1923, when we purchased the property back in 2004 while we were living in the USA. My parent held them for us until we returned from the USA late 2009. As we all too often do, they were put away for safe keeping only to be rediscovered just recently while going through every cupboard & packing up personal items.

Way to beautiful not to frame & hang in the snug. The deeds are part of Winton’s history and they will stay with house if I ever decide to sell.

Winton is just a humble home with a big & beautiful heart.
