A little corner of the Pink Room, filled with stories from another time 🤍

This antique doctor’s waiting room chair sits proudly in the corner, a beautiful reminder of days gone by.

And those tiny ladies’ boots? A wonderful nod to an era when life seemed a little less complicated, fashions were a little more formal, and feet were apparently a fair bit smaller!

It’s these little details that make No. 52 Bowral such a special place to explore 🤍

After repeatedly managing to kill the live plants in the No. 52 Studio, I decided it was time to channel a little inner Tonia Todman and embrace the faux variety instead.

Honestly? They look pretty convincing to me 🌸

A quiet moment of reflection 🤍

When we first stepped into No. 52, we could see her potential, but we also knew the journey ahead would be anything but simple.

There were countless decisions, challenges, late nights, moments of doubt, and moments of pure joy. Through it all, our vision remained the same: to honour her history while creating a beautiful, welcoming place for others to enjoy.

Now, when I catch glimpses like this, I find myself reflecting on just how far she has come.

Every room tells a story. Every detail has been considered. Every corner holds a little piece of the journey.

We’re incredibly grateful to be her custodians and even more grateful to share her with guests who appreciate her as much as we do.

Some dreams take time, but they’re worth every step 🤍

Pinch me moment 🤍

So thrilled to see No. 52 Bowral featured by Australian Traveller and included among some truly incredible Australian stays.

We’re grateful, honoured, and a little bit excited!

When simple isn’t so simple 🤍

The roof at No. 52 had definitely seen better days, so we decided it was time for a refresh.

Funny thing though - what seemed like a simple project turned out to be anything but. Finding someone willing to take it on wasn’t easy. The original paint colour was no longer made. Then summer arrived with days that were either too wet or too hot. And, of course, we had a deadline.

It was important to us to remain true to the colours of the era, while also ensuring this beautiful old home was protected from the elements for years to come.

So we persevered. We found an exceptional painter, partnered with a wonderful paint company who worked their magic, and eventually the weather gods granted us a few “just right” days.

And voilà…

We couldn’t be happier with the result 🤍

Another small chapter in caring for this very special old lady - honouring her past while gently preparing her for the future.

Who’s a pretty boy? 🤍

There’s plenty of bird life at No. 52 - both inside and out.

These handsome fellows, created by and sourced from the beautiful , sit proudly in the kitchen, quietly overseeing all the goings-on.

I often wonder what stories they could tell if they could talk… the laughter shared, celebrations enjoyed, and conversations had around the kitchen table over the years.

A small detail, perhaps - but one that adds a little charm, personality and whimsy to this much-loved old home.
