❗Attention barra fishers along Queensland's east coast.🛑

A closed season for barramundi begins today, 1 November 2024, and runs through to midnight on 31 January 2025.

During this time, it's also prohibited to deliberately target barramundi for catch and release, as the stress of capture may prevent a fish from spawning.

However, the closure doesn't apply to some stocked impoundments, so grab yourself a permit if you want to keep chasing this species in these waterways.
