Do you have family, friends or accommodation guests planning a trip down south?
Please help protect our beautiful forests and horticulture by asking them to not bring any wood, including firewood. Perth is a quarantine area due to a tiny but very problematic beetle called the polyphagous shot-hole borer and we want to do everything within our power to stop this beetle from causing catastrophic problems here in the beautiful South West.
Burning infested wood will cause the beetles to disperse into nearby trees, increasing the risk of spread further. If you need firewood, please purchase it locally.
