Good news Mount Buffalo opem fully .

Hi All,

I am writing to let you know that Mount Buffalo National Park is now fully reopen to the public following it closure from the Porepunkah incident.
VicPol has made the announcement today that their operations will be changing as per the following article, https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-10-24/dezi-freeman-search-mount-buffalo-national-park/105929524
As such VicPol were supportive of Parks Victoria reopening all areas of the park, which we have now done, which is fantastic.

Please encourage people to be aware of onsite signage as we will have works happening in various location as our preparations for the summer continue.

G’day all,
Its currently -6 degrees at the Mt Buffalo Office – things are currently shaping up to be a carbon copy of yesterday (which was amazing.) !
Dingo Dell Shelter will be open from 10am – 4:00pm for toilets and shelter today - Unfortunately the caf won’t be in action this weekend.
The road crew are currently tying up some loose ends and gritting the road – Snow chains must be carried for all vehicles.
- Please adhere to chain fitting signs when required, as conditions and fitting locations will likely change as the day progresses.
Both Dingo Dell and Cresta toboggan slopes have been groomed recently.
The Bogong loop, Beginners loop and the Horn XC trails have also been groomed recently.
Please be safe and aware when driving as the roads are very slippery, wet and icy in some sections. We look forward to seeing you up here when you choose to explore the park.

Hey everyone,
Attached is the snow report for today.
We've had 22cms of snow overnight!

Snow chains must be carried for all vehicles and are currently be fitted at McKinnon's Chain Bay.

Dingo Dell Shelter will be open from 10am - 4:00pm for toilets and seating today - Unfortunately the café won't be in action today or tomorrow.

Both Dingo Dell and Cresta Valley toboggan slopes will be open for tobogganing.

Our road crew are currently ploughing the roads. Please be careful driving up today as there is some thick snow on the roads and some sections will be wet and icy.

If you do not wish to receive our daily snow reports, please reply STOP to this email.
