We are painting our entry hall. It is a big job. The area includes the walls leading up to the landing on the second floor.

We are filling all of the walls where numerous nails and screws have been installed over the past decades to hang pictures and patching the timber frames and doors where they have been dented and chipped.

Everything is being sanded back so that we can apply the new paint to smooth surfaces and not over 10+ decades of previously painted surfaces.

We have decided on green walls and white timber trims and doors. The area will present as clean, bright and refreshing. No

New glass has arrived.
We are replacing the centre glass panes with some art deco glass images that were made for me. We are creating a space that is visually interesting for everyone to enjoy.

A few months ago we discovered that a door frame was badly damaged by termites. The only thing holding it together was the many coats of paint that had been applied to the timber frame over many decades.

The door frame held the half door and servery window that separated the hallway and dining area from the bar areas. The door and surrounding framework was not part of the original timber work.

I would love to have the lounge bar painted in the original colours. However, the cost outweighed my budget.

The last Crystal Chandelier is being installed in the front bar area. She has to be wrapped up so we can do the second coat of paint.
