One of the things that we constantly do at Djarindjin, is provide better services and upgrades when we can. Some years ago the Djarindjin Aboriginal Corporation board approved for some decking to be built outside the Roadhouse to accomodate for more eating area for our visitors. The plan being that we will provide a camp kitchen during the dry season and offer an outdoor dining experience for our campground and other visitors to our region.
We still have a little more to do at the roadhouse, provide some shade, upgrade the benches and seats, some handrails and a step into the decking area, some outdoor speakers and hopefully a panoramic mural wall depicting Thomas Bay.
For now the decking can be used by anyone who wants to have a meal or congregate together.

It’s done!
The new dome structure providing shade for our containers and giving us undercover storage.
The next phase will be close the front and back sections and create a secure storage area but for now this is a welcome addition to our service here in Djarindjin.

Again many thanks to Don Huth and his crew for spending many hours in the planning, certification and construction of this dome shelter.

Thanks also to the NIAA for providing us with some of the funding.
