⚠️ Highway Update ⚠️

Main Roads has now opened the highway between Roebuck Roadhouse and Sandfire Roadhouse. Please proceed with EXTREME CAUTION. There is still a lot of smoke over the road and firefighters on the scene.

We greatly appreciate all of the firefighters that have volunteered their time over the last few days. A great crew that we are so lucky to have up here.

⚠️ Updated Road Closure

The Great Northern Highway is now closed between Roebuck Roadhouse and Bidyadanga Community.

This means there will be no access out of Barn Hill along the access road.

We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding that this is a rapidly changing situation. We will update as soon as we hear anything from DFES.

Views from the southern beach today. Back burning efforts successful in keeping the fire a safe distance away from the park and providing a good buffer. The winds are changing so the smoke will clear up in no time!

⚠️ Barn Hill Road closure ⚠️

The access road will be closed until midday today as the final stage of back burning occurs.

All backburning measures were successful in stopping the fires’ threat to the caravan park and as such there is no risk at all for staying at Barn Hill.

For anyone checking out today please wait for further correspondence before leaving. We will be expecting to be open for new arrivals at midday and updates will be provided as new information comes to hand.

The westerly breeze is expected at midday which will ease the smoke and haze.

FIRE UPDATE

For everyone in the park please rest assured that the fire is now contained. Backburning efforts have been successful in halting the movement of the fire and it is currently no threat to the caravan park. That being said, we are still under a watch and act, so it is important to remain vigilant and prepared if conditions do change. Station management along with DFES and volunteers from bushfire relief and the Broome fire brigade have been assisting in the efforts. Also a massive thank you to our neighbours at Shamrock who have been helping out all day also.

We understand the stress that this bushfire may have caused people but please know if the situation did worsen, everyone would be made aware of the action they would need to take. We will keep you posted as best we can as we will be up monitoring the fire tonight. If you have any other concerns please call Janice on 0427924975.

⚠️ Barn Hill access road currently closed to ingoing and outgoing traffic ⚠️

Fire crews are in the area containing the current bushfire.

Further updates will be posted as new information comes to hand.

Wow, what a great weekend of bowls at this little place we come to each year for our holidays.
