Where it all began

Bunbury boys fishing at Eagle Bay c1958. This is Harry Jordan, Nick Soulos and Herbert Williams. This was sent in by Herbert's granddaughter Tania Leahy who tells us her Pop lived along the railway line on Forrest Ave on the block that is now the Park View Villas. He grew vegetables and repaired bicycles. The Williams family remember exchanging boxes of fruit for the Soulos fish, including "black skinned fish like eels". They remember them fixing fishing nets in their back yard. Tania tells us that there is a marker on the hill where the Soulos fishermen processed Salmon at Eagle Bay.
