Travelling overseas? Be biosecurity aware โ
Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is a highly contagious disease affecting animals such as cattle, sheep, goats and pigs. The virus can be carried in meat, dairy and animal products, and on clothing and equipment. ๐๐๐
Help keep FMD out of Australia:
๐โ Do not bring meat and dairy products.
๐๐งฝ Clean dirty shoes, clothing and equipment before boarding your flight to Australia.
๐ ๐ถโโ๏ธ Declare any meat, dairy and animal products, and any travel in rural areas or near farm animals on your incoming passenger declaration.
Serious penalties apply if you donโt declare truthfully. You may be issued with an infringement notice of up to $2,664, be prosecuted or have your visa cancelled. If in doubt, speak to a biosecurity official. ๐ถ๐ฎโโ๏ธ
