Customers will often ask me why I only have Coopers Beer on tap. I reply that I have Coopers and Pikes Beer on tap. I also tell they are great companies to deal with and are Australian owned and made.
Lion brewery, with such brands as west end, swan, ###x, Hahn,Southwark, emu, tooheys and many others have announced the closure of Boag’s Brewery in Launceston.
Since the Japanese owned company bought into Australian beer market they have CLOSED the Swan Brewery in Perth, the South Australian Brewery in Adelaide and now closing down in Tasmania.
It’s interesting how the population of Australia increases, but major drink manufactures can’t seem to keep their 100+ year old business going, or is it that they don’t give a f—k about Australian jobs. Fewer breweries, more overseas brands, less competition.
Why be brand loyal to brands that don’t care about Australian heritage and history.
