Soooo I dragged myself out of the hammock, finished one air bee’n’bee… then got super busy preparing many more… until… a slight accident 😬

Hopefully I’ll be back into it late next week and I can get all of these ‘partly done’ hotels ready for new homes 🤞

Well I've FINALLY dragged myself out of my hammock 😉 and here is my latest air bee'n'bee... Bunnytail bee'n'bee 🐝🐇🐝

Ready to hang on anything that can take a screw, it is 290mm W x 340mm H, has a cream colorbond roof to help protect the girls from the weather, and is all set to house our amazing cavity nesting solitary native bees right now! 🐝🐝🐝

There’s a couple of questions I get asked a lot…

🐝 Do bees reuse the cavities?

🐝 Do bees and wasps coexist in the same hotel?

Yes and yes. I then explain how many bees reuse the wasp nests once they have emerged.

Here you can see that Nubi (Hylaeus nubilosus) has been impatient 🙄 she wasn’t going to wait around for the wasp to finish with her nest… then wait for the new wasps to emerge. Or even go and choose a clean cavity and make her own nest 🤷‍♀️ I’ve seen her enter this nest a couple of times lately and this morning she spent quite a while doing this… pretty sure she’s closing it off inside the tunnel.

Ms Wasp wouldn’t be too happy I’d imagine 🤦‍♀️

So my last available air bee'n'bee has been posted off to NSW!

That totals 62 hotels that I have made and sold 😳 a massive THANK YOU to all of my supporters!

I have new ones coming soon... don't take any notice of the pic... SOME people think I do nothing with my time 🙄😆 so I like to play on that 🤪

Keep an eye out for my new air bee'n'bees... so you too can help our wonderful solitary native bees nest and provide future generations 🐝🐝🐝
