Our grandfather purchased the Esplanade in 1952. Don’t know what was on the original menu then but I do remember Mrs O’Byrne’s chicken delicious. Mum used to pick me up from primary school (new Cole’s) and Bring me home (we lived upstairs at the hotel) for lunch when it was in the menu.

In our function room tomorrow (Sunday, 16 August) we hope to gather and share some stories to remember Woody.

If you have friends who had the privilege of knowing Woody, or friends from the Wednesday pool comp, please let them know. 11 am - 3 pm.

He appeared out of nowhere to us and built a wonderful Wednesday night at the Nard. Playing pool for the love of the game. We are so lucky that he liked our pool tables.
