๐ CAPE NATURALISTE GOES FULL BEAST MODE ๐
If you were wondering whether this deep low pressure system means business... here's your answer.
At 7:48am, Cape Naturaliste is recording:
๐ด Swell: 9.18 metres
๐ข Sea State: 3.48 metres
To put that into perspective, a swell pushing over 9 metres is serious ocean energy. The actual waves breaking along exposed coastlines can be significantly larger depending on local conditions, reefs and coastal orientation.
With the low pressure system continuing to deepen and move towards the southwest, conditions along the coast are only expected to become more dangerous through today and tonight.
โ ๏ธ Stay well back from:
โข Coastal rocks
โข Jetties and groynes
โข Boat ramps
โข Beach lookouts exposed to large waves
It only takes one rogue wave to ruin your day. Humans have an incredible ability to look at a 9-metre swell and think, "I reckon I'll just get a little closer for a photo."
The combination of:
๐ Huge swell
๐จ Storm-force winds
๐ง๏ธ Squally showers and thunderstorms
If you're heading out for a stickybeak, admire Mother Nature from a safe distance. She is not in a particularly friendly mood today.
