How’s that for appreciation! When a guest goes out and buys you flowers before they leave to say thanks for making their stay so wonderful . And on that note, with a tinge of sadness after nearly 7 years our final few days at Cavvanbah Beach House are upon us . We left Melbourne with a dream of a new business and the for sale sign out the front of 28 Cavvanbah Street Byron Bay beckoned us out of our days of restaurants and cafes. Running this beautiful guesthouse in Byron Bay and turning its fortunes around has been one of the most exciting ventures in this absolutely beautiful part of the the world . We’ve met the most wonderful travellers along the way from every corner of the globe and made many friends. Being able to create a place to make people welcome and happy has not come without challenges . Everything has its time , and now its time for the lovely new owners to start their dream . Thanks to all our wonderful guests for making this experience so rewarding . Steven and Geoff

Our very close knit Byron Bay community are extremely concerned for the whereabouts of missing Belgian backpacker Theo . It’s over two weeks since he was sighted, presumably heading back to his hostel .

Arriba, Arriba! Such a tasty lunch of stuffed jalapeños and deliciously refined Tacos. We were short on time unfortunately, however .brunswick hit the spot perfectly for a quick lunch , complete with a birds eye view of the kitchen and its wood fired grill .

Zucchini , caramelised onion and ‘thyme fe**sh’ (feta) frittata just out of the oven. ‘Thyme Fe**sh’ as told me at market on Thursday is Debras soft feta , however apparently with new laws similar to the champagne v sparkling wine varieties, you are no longer allowed to sell it as feta, so Thyme Fe**sh it is. **sh **sh 😂

Love finding new places that take pride in what they do and use great products in Chinderah. This salt in particular is harvested from Pink Lake in Victoria, which sits just out of my home town Dimboola . No picture of the street coffee from Byron Bay sorry, because we drank it so quickly it was so delicious and so was our breakfast . Terrific friendly service too . Check it out. 👌
