Rest isn’t something you earn after everything else is done — it’s the state where your body heals. 🌿
Just spent a few days at Crystalbrook Byron doing their rainforest reset package, and it reminded me how far we’ve drifted from that.
Our nervous system has two settings: go-go-go (sympathetic) and rest-and-repair (parasympathetic). Modern life keeps us stuck in the first one — and when we never leave that state, it affects sleep, digestion, immunity, even how anxious or reactive we feel day to day.
The vagus nerve is the highway between your brain and body, and it’s what helps you shift out of stress mode. The simplest things support it — slow breathing, time in nature, unhurried walks, real connection, doing nothing at all.
This rainforest reset package gave me exactly that: rainforest walks, morning yoga, an infrared sauna, a spa credit put to very good use, an evening wind-down ritual and mornings that didn’t start with a to-do list. Small, quiet moments that told my body it was safe to switch off.
Slowing down isn’t the opposite of ambition — it’s what makes it sustainable. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is stop. ✨
