Happy World Octopus Day from our little part of the Great Barrier Reef 🪸

Let’s play a little did you know...

🐙 They have three hearts and blue blood
🐙 They can change colour and texture in under a second to blend into rock and coral
🐙 They do all that while being colourblind
🐙 Their suckers can taste whatever they touch
🐙 With no bones, they can squeeze through any gap bigger than their beak

Next time you’re snorkelling around Fitzroy Island, slow down and look twice. You never know who’s watching 👀

Swap the snorkel for hiking boots, the Summit is calling! 🥾🏝️

Everyone loves Welcome Bay (so do we 💙), but skipping the inland trails means missing half the magic.

The Summit Walk is a 4 km loop that climbs 269 m through rainforest, open woodland and giant granite boulders, rewarding you with 360-degree views of the Coral Sea and mainland.

Just 45 minutes from Cairns by ferry, so you can easily whip over for the day. ⛴️

Is there anything better than that first proper holiday feeling? ☀️🌴🍹😍

Snorkel in the morning, piña coladas by the water in the afternoon and a sunset to finish the day. Just 45 minutes from Cairns but it feels a whole world away! 😊

Today is World Cleanup Day! 🌏

Whether you’re walking the island trails, snorkelling the reef, or just taking in the views over lunch, cleaning up after yourself (or grabbing a stray bit of rubbish along the way) makes a real difference.
