In 2025, Symposium by University House continues to showcase contemporary food and outstanding wines. We’re offering a new range of menus emphasising locally sourced produce; boutique varieties and organic and natural wines, including an extensive collection made by women winemakers; and a range of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Located in the heart of the ANU Kambri Precinct, Symposium offers elegant indoor and casual outdoor seating—perfect for those looking to enjoy a glass of wine, or something else, in great company or to unwind. Our handpicked wines cater to every occasion and taste. Our dishes, ranging from shared plates to platters, complement our wine list and your dining experience.
Symposium is open from Tuesday to Friday, 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, with occasional special events running later into the evening. Whether you’re enjoying a casual lunch, a relaxing afternoon, or a special event, our friendly team are ready to welcome you.

Symposium can accommodate groups of up to 90 for stand up events and 50 for sit down lunch or dinner. Additionally, we offer on-site catering services that include serviced canapés and beverage packages to make any occasion even more memorable.

Ahead of the main University House buildings reopening in 2026, University House has relocated our events and services to Symposium, in the heart of the ANU Kambri Precinct, located on University Avenue. With elegant indoor and sunny outdoor settings, Symposium is the perfect venue for indulging in good food and wine, enjoying a barista-made coffee, or just pausing for a quiet moment over a pot of tea.

Symposium will reopen on Tuesday, 4th February 2025.

Symposium is a wine bar in the heart of the ANU Kambri Precinct, located on University Avenue, with elegant indoor and sunny outdoor settings, perfect for enjoying good wine and great company, or just a quiet moment.

Our sommelier has curated an impressive range of interesting wines to suit every occasion and taste. Symposium showcases wines made by women winemakers from across Australia, boutique varieties, and organic and natural wines.

Our chefs are sourcing local produce to create an exciting menu of small plates and platters to complement our wine list. Our seasonal lunch menu features a daily special variety of heart-warming soups and gourmet sandwiches, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Wine tastings can be arranged for groups, please call in advance to book.

The Symposium team looks forward to welcoming you, Tuesdays – Fridays 12 – 8pm, and occasionally later in the evenings for special events.
