Some big updates for . Masks will no longer be mandatory starting on the weekend. Unfortunately for our friends from Sydney and surrounds, you will need to wait a bit longer to make a visit. Please visit the ACT Health website for more information.
📢 Update on NSW travel directions and mandatory use of face masks in the ACT
🏠 NSW travel directions 🏠
We’re extending our stay-at-home requirement for people coming to the ACT from Greater Sydney, Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Wollongong and Shellharbour. This stay-at-home requirement will be in place until at least 11.59pm on Friday 16 July 2021.
You should not be travelling between Greater Sydney and the ACT during this time. If you are a non-ACT resident who has been in Greater Sydney and surrounds in the last 14 days, you cannot enter the ACT unless you get an exemption before you arrive.
😷 Mandatory face masks 😷
Our requirement to wear face masks in the ACT will end at 11:59pm on Friday 9 July 2021. This is because the situation in regional NSW remains stable with no new cases and a very small number of COVID-19 exposure locations.
Face masks will continue to be mandatory for:
- all domestic air travel and while in the Canberra Airport
- all people under a stay-at-home requirement when out in the community
You also need to continue to follow the advice on mask wearing in high-risk settings, such as hospitals, health facilities and residential aged care facilities.
From 10 July, we encourage you to wear a face mask when physical distancing is not possible. For example, when you are on public transport or in crowded indoor venues.
This is the first time face masks have been mandatory in the ACT and the response from our community has been amazing. Thank you to everyone for wearing face masks to keep CBR safe and strong ❤
