MAN ACCUSED OF CRUELLY DRAGGING KOALA TO ITS DEATH NAMED

Maurice Molan, 67, of Koroit, will face court this month over allegations that he dragged a koala behind his car along a roadway, causing the animal’s death.

The koala was allegedly tied by its neck to the tow ball of the vehicle and dragged through the streets of Koroit. The animal was later abandoned at Victoria Park Oval, gurgling blood and suffering horrific injuries.

The animal was rushed to a vet but was ultimately euthanised due to the severe trauma and extent of its injuries.

Molan has been charged in relation to the incident and is due to appear at Warrnambool Magistrates’ Court on 11 September at 9:30am, when the charges are expected to be read.

We encourage Victorians who are able to attend to consider showing their support for this innocent animal and standing together against cruelty to wildlife.
