Farewell, but this is not the end.

After years of welcoming beautiful people from all over the world to experience the joys of the Otways, the Great Ocean Ecolodge has closed its doors and we will soon be closing this page too.

We hope you will stay connected with us by following our research account Conservation Ecology Centre or continue your journey with us by visiting our new ecotourism social enterprise Wildlife Wonders where you can experience the wilds of the Otways just 5km from Apollo Bay.

It is with regret that we share the decision to pause bookings at the Great Ocean Ecolodge for the foreseeable future.

This difficult decision has been prompted by a variety of factors, including the impact of the COVID pandemic on our key international markets. We apologise for any inconvenience that this causes, and we are deeply grateful for your amazing support over the years.

The Great Ocean Ecolodge has been delivering the Conservation Ecology Centre's vision of 'a healthy and resilient Otways, cared for forever' for over 20 years. Bringing that vision to life is now in the hands of Wildlife Wonders, the CEC's exciting new ecotourism experience on the Great Ocean Road.

We hope you can visit us at Wildlife Wonders soon.

You can take the time to enjoy an early morning cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of your room or out in the gardens where early risers will be treated to sights of the kangaroos grazing in the morning mist and the magical music of the dawn chorus.

The Otways are an incredibly special place. Species that have been lost from many other places still survive in these gullies and forests and heathlands.

Meet Emma, our dedicated conservation guide that will not only tell you about all the special critters that reside here, but who will actually show you them too!

A dusk walk with Emma, or another ecologist from our dedicated conservation team, is included in every stay.
