🚧 Carnarvon Highway Scheduled Closures 🚧

Visiting Carnarvon Gorge this July or August? "Dawson River Crossing 3", which is between Injune and the Carnarvon Gorge turn-off, will be closed to all traffic at scheduled times.

Please consult the following message from TMR for specific dates and times:

Upcoming closures - Dawson River bridge Carnarvon Highway (Injune - Rolleston)
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) advises that Crossing 3 of the Dawson River bridge on the Carnarvon Highway (Injune - Rolleston) will be closed to all traffic for the following dates:
• Wednesday 24 July 2024 between 6am and 6pm
• Friday 26 July 2024 between 6am and 6pm
• Monday 29 July 2024 between 6am and 6pm
• Wednesday 7 August 2024 between 6am and 6pm

These dates are weather and conditions, and any changes will be advised as soon as possible.

For the latest traffic and travel information visit QLDTraffic.qld.gov.au or call 13 19 40. For any other enquiries please contact 13QGOV.
Outside these dates and hours, all vehicle combinations with a ground contact width and/or loaded width greater than 3.0m continue to not be permitted to travel through the site. However, eligible vehicles can access the alternate route, via Leichhardt Highway, provided a copy of the approved variation letter is used in conjunction with a current permit. Operators without a current permit are required to apply via the NHVR Portal for the alternative route.
