Need a last minute holiday?

The proposed deck extension has been postponed as we wrangle with paperwork. As a heritage structure with a strong history on the island we are working with the council to improve the cottage but maintain the integrity of the street frontage. The Clarence Council has been great but all things take time. This means there are a few weeks free this month where we had previously blocked them off.

We have been so very lucky. The Ferry House had water lapping at the door but not much more. Those of you who have stayed there will remember that one corner of the house sags a little-that’s allowable when we get old! There was a little water in that side of the house but not too much damage. We are so thankful.

Once again our hearts go out to all those who lost so much.
