Farmgate is a proud supporter of this much needed facility for Pacific Island Seasonal Workers.

An old school will be transformed into new backpacker accommodation for up to 300 people after getting the green light for its first stage of development from Bundaberg Regional Council.

Bundaberg is officially the Sweet Potato capital of Australia Sweet Potatoes Australia, and the guys and girls at Farmgate Backpackers are delivering!
Sweet potatoes are the low carb option for gut health and they are in season and cheap.
Our favourite recipe for sweet potatoes:
Roast in foil until soft. Use a food processor or stick blender and whip with cream, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Serve with just about anything. Enjoy.

Most roles hourly, take tour pick if you stay with us at the hostel in a shared cabin. Transport to and from the farms available for a weekly fee.

Childers is a historical town in Queensland and has many beautiful surrounding country and beaches.
Nearest beach 30mins away, great to go after work or on weekends.

We have a pool BBQ area, free WiFi, TV room, volleyball net, goal posts, hammocks.

Accomodation is shared cabins between 2-6 people. Great social aspect to the park if you want to meet people whilst doing farm work. :-)

While it might be miserable weather in Melbourne, our new bus is about to see some seeious sunshine with its transfer from Sunbury Vic. to Childers Qld.
