Wwoofers wanted
Hi!
We´re looking for 2 to 3 wwoofers to help us get our property ready for Air B&B. We would prefer a couple or 2 to 3 friends traveling together. Mature couples are more than welcome. Preferred stay is 1 week, but if you´re happy with us and we´re happy with you then 2 weeks is definitely a possibility.
We offer accommodation for 2 hours of work a day, or accommodation and food for 5 hours a day. Hours for skilled labourers are negotiable. We are open to you doing more hours one day and having the next couple of days off if that´s what you prefer.
Accommodation is a private room in the house with a double and single bed. Kitchen, bathroom, toilet etc. is shared with us. There is no mobile reception on the property, but we have a land line and unlimited Wifi. We currently have 4 dogs on the property, so you will definitely have to be comfortable around dogs.
The main thing we need help with right now is cleaning up and organizing all the stuff around the property and making the outside of the house look nice.
Other jobs we may need help with are things like mowing the grass, painting, cleaning the house, gardening etc. There are lots of little things in and around the house that need fixing, so if you have the skills to do them that could be your job instead. We´re also looking for someone who knows how to use an Alaskan chainsaw mill.
The property is located 70km from Melbourne CBD in the beautiful Yarra Valley and is surrounded by beautiful forests full of wildlife. We have veggie gardens, orchard, chickens and have an awesome creek running through the back of the property. The nearest town is Healesville, which is a 15 minute drive. Usually someone will drive to town once a day. Healesville has everything you need: Supermarket, petrol station, cafes, restaurants etc. And the best chicken schnitzel burger in Australia!
There are lots of things to do in the area in your free time.
Toolangi State Forest is only a 20 minute drive away, where you can see the Kalatha Giant tree and do some of the amazing walking tracks.
Visit the Healesville Sanctuary a bushland haven for Australian wildlife, check out one of the many vineyards in the region or take one of the many scenic drives with beautiful views.
If you don´t have a car, but want to do stuff in the area. Let us know and we are more than willing to take you to places and show you around.
