A gorgeous afternoon at the "cattle creche" - one or two cows are often left to "calf-sit" while the rest of the herd graze across the paddock.. but all quickly return to investigate when they see the ute or hay tractor!

CROPPING OVERSEER, BUNGAREE, CLARE VALLEY SA
Bungaree, 12 kms North of Clare, South Australia is seeking a Cropping Overseer to join our experienced farm team.

This hands-on overseer will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a well established, 1600 hectare cropping program along with associated pasture renovation. The applicant will need to be a proactive team player and also assist with the cattle and sheep enterprise on this iconic mixed farming property.

Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in all aspects of an arable farming operation, including use and maintenance of spraying, seeding and harvesting equipment.
- Strong understanding of timeliness and logistical management for crop success.
- HC licence (or ability to upgrade), with MC licence being advantageous.
- Applicants must hold permanent residency status in Australia - this is not a short term role suitable for backpackers.

Preferable Skills
- Experience in using John Deere equipment, including SP sprayer.
- Experience with on farm grain storage.
- Experience with livestock.
- Knowledge of pasture management and livestock production advantageous.

We Offer
- An opportunity for the right applicant to develop their agricultural career in the Clare Valley, a region known for its diverse primary production, tourism and lifestyle appeal, including local schools and a strong community.
- A competitive remuneration package from $70,000 - $100,000 plus superannuation, based on experience and ability.
- Individual requirements, such as accommodation, will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.
- Flexible start date, subject to candidate’s circumstances.

We are closed to day visitors on Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 May while our guests and team enjoy the Clare Valley Gourmet Festival. Bungaree Station will be open as normal next week from 10am-4pm daily for visitors exploring the Clare Valley who wish to do our self guided tour or pick up some local produce from our Station Store.
