🪿 Meet Mavis… the REAL boss of Lake Colac Holiday Park!

If you’ve stayed with us before, there’s a good chance you’ve already met our gorgeous girl Mavis. And if you haven’t… well, she’d like to formally welcome you to her park! 😂

Mavis takes her role very seriously — patrolling the grounds, supervising the ducks, keeping an eye on the guests and, most importantly, making sure there are plenty of snacks available.

With beautiful Lake Colac on your doorstep, abundant birdlife, peaceful surrounds and Mavis herself ready to welcome you, it’s a pretty special little place to escape to.

What a Grand Final long weekend! 🏉🏕️

Lake Colac Holiday Park was just about at capacity, and it was fantastic to welcome guests from all around Australia — and even around the world!

On Grand Final afternoon, Daz transformed the camp kitchen into our very own footy headquarters, with the projector up, the big screen ready, balloons and decorations… and plenty of excited footy fans!

Of course, not everyone knew the rules of AFL, so there were some pretty hilarious explanations happening throughout the afternoon! 😂 By the end of that incredible finish, we think we may have converted a few new fans.

We also put on a FREE sausage sizzle for everyone, with a huge thank you to our wonderful Assistant Park Manager, Amanda, who volunteered her time to jump behind the BBQ and keep everyone fed. 🌭❤️

Despite the weather not always playing nicely, the park was absolutely buzzing all weekend. Kids riding their bikes, families fishing, people laughing, new friendships being made and guests simply enjoying being together.

There’s something pretty special about seeing the park full and hearing laughter everywhere you go.

A huge thank you to everyone who spent their Grand Final long weekend with us. It was busy, it was fun, it was a little bit chaotic… and we loved it!

This is what holiday park life is all about. ❤️

LONG WEEKEND, HERE WE COME! ☀️⛺️

We’re getting ready for a BIG one at Lake Colac Holiday Park — we’re almost FULL!

We’ve only got a few unpowered sites left for the entire long weekend, so if you’re thinking of throwing the tent in the car and heading our way, give us a call ASAP!

Otherwise, we’ll see you over the school holidays!

🎣 WELL… SOMEONE HAD A GOOD WEEKEND! 😂

Check out this absolute legend after Sunday’s Lake Colac Catch a Carp Festival!

He’d secured himself a pretty prime position at Lake Colac Holiday Park for a few days… and judging by this haul, we reckon he was VERY happy with his choice! 🎣👏

That is some serious carp-catching effort — and we love seeing our guests getting out, enjoying the lake and making the most of everything right on our doorstep.

Stay by the lake. Drop a line. Catch a few fish… or apparently, ALL OF THEM! 😂

Have dinner with Mavis 🪿💕

Our beautiful girl has been busy laying eggs everywhere lately… 🥚🥚🥚

Sadly, the other birds keep finding them before she knows what’s happened. 😢

So we’re giving Mumma Mavis a little extra love… 💕

…and some delicious, nutritious bird seed straight from my hand. 🌾

She’s certainly not shy when dinner is involved! 😂

🎣 FIRST FISH… AND WHAT A WHOPPER! 😲👏

Meet young Michael, who had a pretty exciting day fishing with his family in the creek right beside Lake Colac Holiday Park.

His very first fish… and he reeled in this HUGE carp! 🐟💪
Just look at that proud smile — we reckon he’s officially hooked! 😂🎣

And the timing couldn’t be better, with the Victorian Fisheries Authority Lake Colac Catch a Carp Festival happening tomorrow!

It’s so good seeing kids getting outdoors, throwing in a line, getting a little muddy and enjoying some good old-fashioned family fun. 💚

And you can do it all right here at Lake Colac Holiday Park — fishing, walking, birdwatching, exploring the lake… or simply enjoying being outside together.
