Designed by Leigh Woolley, one of Tasmania’s leading architects, the passive solar house maximizes use of its superb waterfront site and appears to float above the sheoaks and the sea. Sheoaks deck and guest sitting room look out over Great Oyster Bay - a perfect place to watch the sun set while indulging in a dozen oysters and a glass of wine, both local of course. In our sitting room you'll find
a wood heater, tea and coffee making facilities, comfortable chairs, old fashioned games, books, magazines, TV and DVD's. Three guest bedrooms each accommodate two guests in either queen or twin/king pillow topped beds. Of course they can be singles too. All bedrooms have views to the estuary of the Swan River, en-suite facilities, individually controlled electric heating, dual control electric blankets, hair dryers, quality linen, big fluffy towels and a comprehensive room compendium. Walls between adjoining units and the sitting room are soundproofed. The décor is a pleasant mix of casual modern with restored cottage furniture and carefully chosen art works, all creating a beach holiday atmosphere. Full cooked breakfasts feature great Tasmanian produce, local whenever possible. Meet your fellow guests in the dining room, or choose to eat on the deck during summer. Packed lunches are available for walkers and luxury hampers for those treating themselves to a celebration weekend. If your preference is to stay home, we can provide a light meal served either on the deck or inside by the fire. Evening meals are available by arrangement, including celebration meals and barbeques. Any special dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice. Due to its proximity to an unfenced cliff, Sheoaks is not suitable for children. Sheoaks is an entirely smoke free environment.
