Lachlan Shire Council is pleased to announce that Gum Bend Lake will be open to recreational boating and other approved aquatic activities as at 4pm, tomorrow (December 1, 2020).
Whilst the public will be understandably excited to commence aquatic activities, Council urges community members to be mindful of safety. Boat owners and skiers should exercise caution when using the lake as dredging and earthworks completed while the lake was dry have changed the bank slope and depth for parts of the lake.
Boat owners are urged to check that their boats are registered and have the appropriate insurances. Boating activities are regulated by Transport for NSW and boat operators are required to be licenced appropriately.
Construction of stage 1 of the new Gum Bend Lake Walkway is ongoing and the public are advised not to enter the fenced construction area as it is not safe to do so.

COVID-19 Update:
At the moment we are business as usual here at the Allambie with extra precautions in place.
From today onwards there will be no cleaners coming and going from the facility to stop any extra people that may be carrying something. myself and one other person will be the only members of staff at the Allambie to minimize being exposed to covid. I will be doing the daily cleaning, and servicing of rooms, if you'd prefer not to have your room serviced during your stay that will be fine. Whilst the motel is not extremely busy at the moment I've started leaving rooms empty for 24 hours after a guest has departed and spraying them completely with disinfected in hope that the germs are killed. We take the health and safety of our guests very seriously and are confident that if we all wash our hands regularly and maintain good hygiene and health within ourselves and our rooms we will remain open. If you are travelling to stay with us and you are unwell, we ask that you call us to cancel your booking. We will accept cancellations at this stage the day of with no fee to be charged if you are feeling unwell. We hope that if everyone can follow what the government are saying we will be able to get past this as soon as possible and business to be back to normal for everyone .
