Woodman Point Recreation Camp is running 3 jam‑packed Outdoor Adventure Days for 9 to 14 year olds this April. Kids can try archery, hit the flying fox, build team skills and take on challenges designed to get them moving.

🎹 A new lease of life has been given to His Majesty's Theatre, Perth much-loved rehearsal room piano, moving to its new home at Woodman Point Recreation Camp .

Recreation camp manager Ben Walton said the piano is striking the perfect chord, following a steady beat of music camps at the site. ⛺ 🎵

“This piano is a wonderful example of how we can blend sport and recreation with creative industries to foster cohesive communities.”

Camp culture, connection and 320 big smiles! 😄 🏕️

🧗‍♂️ Woodman Point was anything but quiet last week, as more than 320 campers from across WA came together for three days of outdoor adventure, teamwork and connection.

From Denmark to Queens Park, schools and community groups brought their energy to a jam-packed program of high ropes, beach games, bush trails and raft-building.

With 77 structured activities, 10 self-led sessions and 23 outdoor leaders guiding the way, the camp was a celebration of confidence and camp spirit.

Hosted by the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, Woodman Point is one of 5 camp locations offering unforgettable experiences for young people across the State.

Today we commemorate Anzac Day.

This significant date is a time to honour the courage and sacrifices of Australia’s servicemen and women and pay tribute to those who laid down their lives in service to our country.

In 2025, we reflect on 110 years since the Gallipoli Campaign where Australian and New Zealand soldiers formed part of the allied expedition that set out to capture the Gallipoli peninsula.

We express deep gratitude to all who have served or continue to serve in our defence forces and reserves.

In case you missed it our Director of Recreation Camps Tim Swart was on the radio, as ABC Perth broadcast live from Coogee near Woodman Point, Cockburn Sound last week.

Tim spoke to Mark Gibson about how our camp hosts thousands of young people each year – they take part in adventurous activities like archery, flying fox, abseiling, rock-climbing, coastal biking, raft-making and more. New friends are made as well as lifelong memories.

Tim says: “Kids arrive excited and leave exhausted with connection to country and nature, and stories to tell around the dining table at home that in turn lead to family camping trips.”
