The cooling weather means our sky becomes clearer and Stargazing is at its best!

Why not spend a few nights with us starting with the in-house night stargazing experience run by Beyond The Sky Stargazing,

Then add a daytime tour of the huge Siding Springs telescopes built high in the ranges just 25 minutes from our Park.

Follow up with a few days experiencing the beauty of the Warrumbungles National Park and the treasures within it during the day, ending with a great dinner at one of our local Pubs or restaurants or a DIY dinner at our camp kitchen and a quiet drink around the communal fire pit.

A beautiful Good Friday at the Getaway Tourist Park tonight with families from all eastern states enjoying the Easter break.

Many are extending their stay to several days to take in the great local features the town and surrounding areas offer,

Fuel supply has not been an issue with any interstate travellers. Just keep the tank topped up when convenient.

The Camp kitchen and nearby communal fire pit is always a hit as the days get cooler - What better way to relax with a wine or frosty beer after a day enjoying the Warrumbungle Shires offerings.

The Coona Show is fast approaching and we have Cabins, powered drive through van sites and plenty of unpowered camp space available.

Stay for the Shows activities or just passing through, we offer hot showers in a professionally cleaned amenities block, a refreshing Swimming Pool and a Camp Kitchen with a communal fire pit. All in a rural setting only 2km from town centre.

The Coona Tourist information centre is a 'must visit' if you're staying with us, an exciting venue with super helpful staff.

What a huge achievement. The Centre has officially ranked 3rd in NSW for walk‑in visitor numbers for July–September 2025!

With over 25,000 visitors in the quarter, Coonabarabran has outperformed many larger destinations and continues to shine as a leading inland tourism gateway.

This is a great reflection of the region’s incredible attractions, dedicated staff, and strong community support. Well done to everyone involved — your hard work is putting the Warrumbungle region on the map in a big way!

We have been blessed with beautiful weather and a park full of lovely families for the Easter and School holidays.

As well as exploring all the great attraction in the area, many have enjoyed the very popular Stargazing show held nightly (weather permitting) in our Park.
