Less water means higher water prices.
Higher water prices mean higher production costs.
Higher production costs mean higher prices at the supermarket.

It's pretty simple.
Water buybacks don’t stay in the bush — they hit your grocery bill.

As summer progresses many of our lakes and waterways are becoming unusable due to infestations of blue green algae. Lake Albert in Wagga, Lake Canobolas Orange, Menindee Lakes to name a few.

Why are governments stepping around this problem?

Carp aren’t just ugly fish — they’re ecosystem wreckers.

They churn up river beds, release nutrients, kill aquatic plants and fuel toxic blue-green algae blooms. Warm, slow, nutrient-rich water plus carp equals ecological collapse.

Ignoring carp while blaming “the weather” is a cop-out.
Fix the system or expect more toxic rivers.

Victoria’s recreational hunting organisations have united to oppose a proposal to lock recreational users out of the Central Highlands.

The organisations have committed to working together as a hunting community and with the broader outdoor recreation community to protect and grow access to Victoria’s forests for sustainable recreational pursuits, including hunting.

The organisations will meet regularly and keep members informed as this issue progresses.

In the interim, hunters are urged to meet with their local State Members of Parliament to express their concerns about hunting access.

This is the start of a long ongoing battle, and we appreciate your support. 🦌

Hunting is personal!

Brant Macduff summed it beautifully in his book: “The Sh***un Conservationist. Why Environmentalists Should Love Hunting”.

“Divorcing the meat we eat from the live animals it comes from makes it easier to see hunting as further from food rather than closer to it, but in reality there is no closer relationship to meat that what the hunter pulls from the woods or the angler reels from the water.

You have to be on the land to hunt it, you have to see the animal alive in front of you before you can kill it, and you have to take the meat from the bone to eat it.

It makes you a part of the cycle, then each aspect of it becomes personal. And we care about what’s personal to us”.

That struck a chord with me, hunting is very personal to me, and to you no doubt!

The SFF and myself will continue the fight for the proper management of hunting and fishing in NSW and Australia.
