NEW SHARK BARRIER

You'll be able to swim in a shark-free zone at Cottesloe beach from this morning.

A non-lethal plastic shark barrier has been installed from Cottesloe Groyne to north of the Indiana Tea House.

The 310 metre barrier has gaps for fish and other marine life to swim through and it's anchored to the seafloor.

The barrier will be removed before the start of winter for the surf season.
