The recent storm filled in the slopes with cold, dry snow as we head into a beautiful sunny weekend. The early to mid August forecasts are looking promising for more snow to come!

Excellent snow cover above 1700m after the last storm. Majority of lifts now open at Thredbo (Basin, Karels and Sponars on hold) and Perisher (Mt P and Guthega on hold). Sunny skies and mild daytime temps for the week ahead!

A welcome breakfast view! 15-20cm of storm snow up high will mean a lot more runs open for the second week of school holidays.

Just in time for school holidays, there’s been around 25cm of fresh snow overnight. Clear days and cold nights next week should see plenty of snowmaking in the resorts.

Everyone’s asking - “What’s the snow going to be like for school holidays”? We won’t dwell on the mild, wet June, but there is a sign of hope on the horizon starting July 3. Temps will drop and there will be blizzard conditions through the weekend. We won’t try and predict how much snow here, but the best case scenario is enough for a decent base to get the season moving. The longer range weather patterns indicate a better chance of colder temps through July which will favour snow making and natural snow falls. It’s unlikely to be a bumper season, but there will be plenty of nice days to make the most of!

PSA to all TFSL members and Guests, as of today the Alpine way is now an 80km/h speed zone from Jindabyne to just before the lodge where it turns into a 60km/h speed zone. As far as we can find out it is permanent year round from now on.
