A very hungry Charlie!

Charlie is our resident wombat at Cradle Highlander. She knows the terrain well, she knows which patch of grass is the most tasty. She looks hungry today!

"This was exactly what we were looking for. A log cabin in the snow. And Cradle Highlander turned it on for us! Good job. Cosy with toasty hot log fireplace. Our own kitchen to make hot drinks and cheese toasties. We toasted our own marshmallows in the fire. Snow outside. What more could we ask for. Oh and cute pademelons outside our cabin each day. I wish we stayed longer."

This is our Cradle Mountain View One Bedroom Spa Cabin — Myrtle and Snowgum.

Nested in the bush and fitted with a log fireplace, this cabin is where you can admire the magnificent Cradle Mountain while sipping coffee on your deck.

But, bear in mind, like everything else in the mountain, nature always has an upper hand — Cradle Mountain only unveils its countenance if the weather allows.

What else makes this cabin magic? the warm fire at night, the tranquility of the bush, the silence of the mountain, and … the hot spa in the room after a strenuous day.

Bring someone you love for a memorable experience.

Bushmans Hut — A Quintessential Tasmania Mountain Cabin Experience

Bushmans Hut is our oldest cabin. With a Pandani in the front, it is the most photographed cabin at Cradle Highlander.

A humble cabin built 35 years ago, it was built to shelter bushwalkers. To make sure it still serves its purpose in modern days, It has been refitted with a new gas cooker and hot water unit this year.

Unfortunately its old pot belly gas fireplace died and we couldn’t find any parts to fix it or a similar model to replace it, it is now heated by an electric wall heater.

We then put in new French linen bedding to make it even more comfortable and an electric blanket to keep the bed warm.

We kept everything else the same as the old days to create a rustic Tasmanian mountain cabin experience.
